Clinical Massage

Clinical Massage aims to achieve some or all of the following outcomes:

  • Reduce or eliminate pain

  • Improve range of movement so that you are able to return to activities you had previously enjoyed

  • Reduce stress levels

  • Improve quality of sleep

I am an advanced clinical massage therapist (ACMT), currently studying to achieve a BTEC level 6 professional diploma in advanced clinical massage and sports massage - the highest qualification available to massage therapists in the UK.

I am trained to work with injuries and chronic pain. Everyone's experience of pain in unique. My approach is to work with you as an individual to find the most efficient way to treat your problem.

I use a variety of approaches such as trigger point work, myofascial techniques, stretching, hot stones and also self-care strategies for you to use at home.  It is vital that you are able to relax during treatment, especially as many people have stress which accompanies their pain, so I aim to provide a calm and comfortable environment.

My philosophy is that it doesn’t have to hurt to work.  There is no requirement to go through any pain barriers to achieve a result.  In fact it’s my belief that if I am causing you pain during the treatment then your body will respond by tightening your soft tissues even further which is the exact opposite of what I’m trying to achieve!

Issues I commonly work with are:

  • Lower back pain including sciatica

  • Headache and migraine

  • Shoulder injuries

  • Arthritis

  • Fibromyalgia and polymyalgia

  • Repetitive strain injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Stress, anxiety and depression

Real outcomes can normally be achieved in between 1 to 6 treatments. I work on a basis of having one treatment a week for up to six weeks in order to achieve a result.  Often clients are feeling significant improvements after three or four sessions and so the time between sessions can then be lengthened.

I come away feeling fantastic!

"Having had pain, knots & tightness in my shoulder/back area for months, Juliet Miller diagnosed that it was tension caused by stress and how I use my mouse at my desk. I had 2 sessions with her & my problem slipped away! Amazing, I see her regularly now & come away feeling fantastic!"

I for one can’t wait for my next session!

I have been having massages with Juliet for the past two years. Initially, I went to her with some trepidation, but I needn’t have worried from the moment I had my first massage Juliet put me at my ease. Her competent and professional manner and knowledge of her field of expertise is excellent.  She has found problems with me that I was unaware existed, having lived with them for so long that I thought it was normal!, Juliet having identified the problems, over a few sessions has  sorted them out.    No matter which treatment I receive from Juliet, from clinical massage to hot stones, I just love and have benefited from them. I can honestly recommend Juliet and any of her treatments. I for one can’t wait for my next session.

I leave after a session feeling lighter and walking taller!

I visit Juliet whenever I have aches and pains in my back that won’t go away. I hold stress and tension in my neck and shoulders and also suffer from sinusitis. Juliet has always been able to release the tension and I leave after a session feeling lighter and walking taller. I find Juliet really listens to my complaint and therefore each treatment varies in order to work the area that’s causing the pain. She has always been able to resolve the problem over a few sessions.

Always find Juliet both friendly and professional!

I originally contacted Juliet following an ongoing problem with my neck and shoulders for which I had clinical massage until the problem eased.  I now have monthly maintenance treatments.  I also have relaxation massages and facials depending on my needs and always find Juliet both friendly and professional.
